In vane motors, the rotor is slotted, and the vanes move radially to seal against a cam ring. The rotor is symmetrically balanced, with two major radial sections and two minor radial sections. The rotors are pushed against these contours by light springs, assisted by centrifugal force at higher speeds. The rotors are fitted with a nut and bolt, which rotates in an orbital fashion. The nut abuts the rotor, which rides on the eccentric shaft.
